About ITTIP

Our Mission

As part of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services (CEHHS) at Longwood University, ITTIP supports P-12 school outreach by delivering learning opportunities for both teachers and students. Our focus is on professional development for educators, specializing in best practices for integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) into classrooms. Additionally, we offer programs—often summer-based—to engage students as active learners in STEM content.

Our primary professional learning audience includes school divisions within Superintendent’s Region 8 and SVRTC member divisions. However, we also partner with divisions across Virginia and nationally, and have delivered on-site professional development for teachers in countries such as Ghana, India, South Africa, and New Zealand. ITTIP faculty work closely with colleagues across campus departments and colleges to provide specialized expertise in content instruction for both professional development and student-centered programs.
